A Connecticut man accused of killing his infant son by throwing him off a bridge pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
Police say 21-year-old Tony Moreno threw 7-month-old Aaden off the Arrigoni Bridge into the Connecticut river in July.
Police documents say Moreno waited until his mother and brother arrived at the bridge before throwing the child and jumping into the river himself.
Moreno survived. The child did not.
Documents show Moreno was going through a custody battle with the boy’s mother.
A judge denied a restraining order against Moreno just days prior.
The child’s mother, Adrianne Oyola, says Moreno “has told me he could make my son disappear any time of the day.”
Before the incident, Moreno texted Oyola, saying, “You tried to take him away from me. You failed. I didn’t. Enjoy your life without us now.”
Moreno is being held on $2.1 million bail.
