A Missouri woman was arrested after she allegedly shot her 5-year-old son during an argument with her boyfriend.
Police say 23-year-old Lisa Marie Hall fatally shot her son in the head on Saturday after drinking with her boyfriend.
The boy was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Prosecutors charged Hall with unlawful use of a firearm and child endangerment.
Hall initially claimed a man entered her home and threatened the child with a gun. She says she went to push the gun away and it went off, hitting her son.
Her boyfriend, who has not been identified, admitted he and Hall had purchased the gun used.
A witness who lives at the residence refuted their story, saying they were the only adults in the bedroom and had been drinking and “bickering” before the gun went off.
The witness saw Hall running as she carried her son, yelling, “My baby, my baby!”
The boyfriend told the witness, “It wasn’t me. It wasn’t me. She pulled it on me.”
After hearing from the witness, police questioned the boyfriend again who admitted Hall pulled the gun and fired, hitting the child.
He also admitted the man Hall claimed shot the boy was not there.
Hall is being held on $150,000 bond.
