A Virginia couple was arrested after police and social services found three children in “deplorable living conditions” in their Bristol home.

On Monday, detectives accompanied the Department of Social Services to investigate a complaint of child abuse and neglect at the home of Bryan and Melissa Harr.

Police say they found three juveniles living in filth, sleeping in a bedroom with only mattresses on the floor and human feces throughout the home.

Police say the three children were locked in a bedroom for “extended periods of time throughout the day and night.”

On Thursday, 39-year-old Bryan Harr and 47-year-old Melissa Harr were arrested on three counts of felony child endangerment.

Both are being held at the Bristol jail without bond.

The three juveniles have been placed in Social Services’ custody.
