An Indiana man was arrested for killing his baby daughter in May.
On Thursday, police in Marion County arrested 45-year-old Jeffrey Fairbanks after he admitted to placing a pillow over his 3-month-old daughter’s face to muffle her crying and accidentally killed her.
Fairbanks told police he put the body in a dumpster.
Back in June, Fairbanks insisted he wasn’t responsible for his daughter’s death.
“I picked her up and she was totally lifeless and I couldn’t figure out why,” Fairbanks told WTHR.
A child in the home told police that Fairbanks “usually slaps (3-month-old Janna) in the mouth to shut up.”
Children in the house also told police that Fairbanks had placed a blanket or pillow over the infant’s face to muffle her crying at least two other times.
Fairbanks is charged with murder and child neglect resulting in death.
He is being held at Marion County Jail.
