Predator Faces 360 Years in Prison in ‘Disturbing, Devastating’ Child Sex Abuse Case

A California man faces more than 360 years behind bars for sexually abusing his stepdaughter for years.

On Monday, a jury found 32-year-old Luis Gilbert Sanchez guilty on 29 counts of sexually abusing a child and possession of child pornography.

“This is one of the most disturbing and devastating cases I have ever been involved with,” Prosecutor Kathlene DiDonato told the San Bernadino Sun after the hearing.

Sanchez reportedly began molesting his now-15-year-old stepdaughter when she was just six and continued to abuse her until his arrest in 2009 when his wife came home early from work and found her daughter acting strangely.

The girl told her mother that Sanchez had been molesting her for years.

Last week the girl testified against Sanchez.

“She is just a really, really bright girl who doesn’t let this define who she is,” DiDonato said. “She is very resilient.”

Sanchez faces 366 years in prison when he is sentenced on September 22.
