A Florida woman left three children alone in a Waffle House to go drinking and never returned, police say.
On Sunday, police were called to a Waffle House after employees reported two 12-year-olds and an 11-year-old who were left alone crying in a parking lot.
A waitress told police that a woman left the children by themselves with some money an hour and a half prior. She said the kids didn’t have enough money to pay for the food and cried multiple times because she didn’t return.
A Good Samaritan who stopped the children from crossing the street learned she went to a nearby cafe to drink and found 38-year-old Rhiannon Gentry with two men at the bar.
Gentry returned by the time police had already arrived and told them she had not been gone long.
Gentry was arrested and charged with three counts of deprivation of a minor.
Her two kids have been placed in their grandmother’s custody.
The other child was returned to her family who left the girl under Gentry’s supervision.
