Andree Cordon does not exactly live near a busy highway. In fact, the UK mom and her kids live in a sleepy neighborhood where it is normal to see kids play outside and in the street.
Yet, Andree said that her kids got the fright of their lives when police pulled up and told them they had been called because the kids were outside playing and the neighbor wanted them to move.
According to Andree, the beef was not that the kids were playing in the street and in danger, but that they were playing too close to their neighbor’s house.
“A neighbour had rang the police to complain that children were playing in the street,” Andree said.
“The van arrived and one of the officers asked me if the children could play a little further down the street. I said `no’ because I wanted to keep an eye on them from the house.”
Eventually the police left without issuing a citation, but Andree said it was all a bit much.
Another neighbor agreed.
“To call the police over something like this is ridiculous, it is only kids playing for goodness sake,” the neighbor told the Mirror.
Andree added it wasn’t like the kids were screaming their heads off or up to no good.
“They were not being noisy or misbehaving, they were just being kids.”
